]]> With the enthusiasm for community engagement after lockdowns and restrictions, Leopold Playgroup has seen an increasing demand from families to attend our sessions. Our membership base is expanding, and we feel that we need to broaden what we can offer in our sessions to accommodate more people and the diversities that come with that. This means that there are a few layers to the plan we have for Playgroup in 2023. We hope to continue to develop our ‘baby zone’ with the addition of some soft play blocks, create a ‘calm corner’ with a quiet space cubby, noise cancelling headphones, fidget spinners, weighted animals, and pop-its, and cater to our growing attendance numbers with extra tables and another picnic mat.

Thank you to Community Bank Leopold who have granted us $3,350.

We have been able to add the following equipment to our collection:

  • Emro outdoor mat
  • MTA tables x 2
  • MTA bamboo play house
  • Soft play
  • Noise cancelling head phones
  • Fidget spinners and weighted lizard

]]> It’s hard to get out of the house with a toddler, let alone a toddler brought up in a pandemic!
Our little ones missed out on two years of community life, an integral part of development in such an important time of their lives. Playgroup allows children to see their caregivers engaging in the community, working as part of a team, and to practice the social interactions they’ve missed out on during lockdowns and restrictions. Coming to Playgroup helps develop community minded individuals of all ages.

Thank you to the City of Greater Geelong for granting us $2,554 to refresh our play equipment and encouraging young Leopold families to join our Playgroup community.

We were able to add the following equipment to our collection:

  • Tuff Tray and stands x 2
  • My burrow large wombat
  • 11 tone drum x 2
  • Mini trampoline
  • Clear crawling tunnel
  • Tara Treasures felt toys
  • Play Store and Theatre
  • Play Cafe
